Since 1989 we have provided independent specialist construction consulting services including commercial and contract management, claims and dispute management, program management and forensic delay analysis.
We have worked with a diverse client base from specialist subcontractors to large international contractors, public rail authorities and Government departments. We have worked throughout the UK and the following countries; - Germany, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Korea, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, South Africa, Sudan.
Our objective is to be pro-active in providing commercial, contractual and dispute resolution advice. Working with our clients we assist them to define their core issues and present our recommendations and course of action to achieve our client's objective.
We have extensive experience in many aspects of construction consulting including; - commercial and contract management, programme management, forensic delay analysis and providing claims, dispute avoidance, mediation and expert opinion.
Peter Kidd - Director
Contract consultant with over 40 years experience providing; - commercial, program and dispute management services specialising in forensic delay analysis with extensive experience in providing claims and / or rebutting subcontractor and main contractor claims.
Experienced in a range of procurement forms e.g. PPP, EPCM, traditional and lump sum fixed price. Extensive experience of contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, JCT, ME GT&C and the VOB. Representing parties at arbitration, adjudication, ADR and litigation, determining contractual liabilities and obligations, drafting claim submissions, for extensions of time and /or loss and expense.
Having been appointed to provide expert opinion on matters of delay and contract scope specifically for rail, signalling, conservation refurbishment works and infrastructure works.
The projects involved range from; - general construction, roads and infrastructure, rail, car plants, airports, power stations, tunnels, utilities, oil and gas, pharmaceutical plants, telecommunication networks, MEP and signalling works and offshore wind-farms.
The projects have been located throughout;- UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East, Africa and the Far East including managing a project management practice in Berlin for six years. Having trained with a major international contractor in the estimating and planning departments before being transferred to the Middle East for a commercial role on various projects located in Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Sudan and Dubai.
Malcolm Burns - Director
Consultant commercial and dispute management with particular experience;- rail, LUL , nuclar power, general construction, civil engineering and utilities industries.
Having worked across the UK, France, Japan, South Africa, Europe and Turkey dealing with such matters as; -determining contractual liabilities and obligations: managing the budget draw down; drafting contracts; managing contractual issues; tender negotiations; sub-contactors accounts; claim submissions, for extensions of time and additional costs.
The projects range from the tilting train, power stations, water utilities, motorway construction, HVAC services to rail, signalling and infrastructure works.
Specialties: Dispute management with experience in the Rail, Nuclar Power, General Construction, Engineering and Utilities industries. Drafting bespoke contracts; managing all contractual issues; tender negotiations.
Mike Testro - Associate Director
A consultant Chartered Builder with over 45 years experience in the construction and engineering industries and over 18 years experience specialising in delay analysis in construction dispute resolution.
He has extensive experience in the analysis and resolution of commercial and contractual disputed matters in a wide range of projects such as ;- general construction, civil engineering, hydro dams, docks and harbours, LNG plants, oil and gas, MEP works, hospitals, power stations, rail, highways, desalination plants and water purification plants. The projects have been located throughout UK, Europe, Russia, Egypt, the Middle East and the Far East. Mike has acted as the Expert Witness on many occassions, and has been tested and ‘hot tubbed’.
He is the author of several books and a number of articles including;- A Practical Guide to Delay Analysis ; India Contract Act 1872 and its relevance to modern India Construction and Method Statement for MEP Planning.
